Unusual lighting finds from Flos

Do you dare to embrace unusual and creative lighting designs? You don't have to limit your style to standard chrome fixtures and simple table lamps. Similarly, you don't need to be concerned with everything matching in terms of colour and shape. Now and then it's good to add a bit of character to your home in the form of quirky light. Lighting not only updates your decor but can illuminate your space while adding plenty of decorative flair. As modern lighting company Flos comes to ACHICA, we take a closer look at its designs...

This pretty collection of hand-blown crystal cut vases have been re-imagined and used as a wonderfully novel pendant light (above). Designed by Philippe Starck, this creation is one of his most extravagant designs. Hang this eclectic creation over the dining table for some curious looks and plenty of complements.

This award-winning glossy pendant (pictured below) is designed by Marcel Wanders and is the perfect blend of traditional and contemporary style. While the exterior is a clean dome shape, its interior has a delicate floral detail sure to act as a focal point in a living room or hallway.

Simple but effective, this pendant light features three conical glass cones that can be adjusted to sit at different levels. Use it in the kitchen to give your prep area a cluster of crisp bright light.

Lastly, this showstopper of a suspension light is known as the Zepplin and only uses one bulb. Wonderful for low ceilings this design is a work of art and is finished with a unique 'cocoon' resin, which gives the appearance of silk threads covering the whole skeleton.
