Give your bed the designer look with linen from Bianca Lorenne

Alison Nottingham launched Bianca Lorenne from her home in New Zealand in 2005. The brand is named after her two daughters, and her aim was simple – to create stunning bed linen and home textiles. As a result the couture range of bed linen is filled with luxurious fabrics and wonderful designs. We’ve handpicked a few that will add a splash of spring freshness to your bedroom this season...

Linen that has interesting elements such as the the Eden collection (above) brings its own character to a room. Featuring an on-trend floral print in shades of green, ochre and cinnamon, the bedspread and pillows work exceptionally well with simple plain white linen and gives the look a little depth.

Similarly if you want to create a colour scheme for the whole room then pick one or two colours from your bedding and choose accessories that complement them. Just limit the colours you choose to use, otherwise your room may start looking slightly chaotic rather than calming.

We all know that the easiest way to decorate a bed is with cushions, but go one step further to mix and match colour, fabric and textures. If you choose blue then think outside the box and bring in colours like cobalt and powder blue. Then pick cushions in different shapes, sizes and fabrics (think chiffon, silk, velvet). This will add another layer to the bed and make it look more inviting.

White gives a room an elegant design with a clean finish and this is also the case with bedding. Instead of plain pillowcases why not turn your attention to these hand-quilted pillow shams that come with a detailed botanical design. They instantly add a sophisticated and timeless look and will work with anything you decide to use further down the line.
