Add 1920's The Artist style to your home

The Oscar winners 2012 were announced last night at the 84th Academy Awards. If you’ve seen silent film The Artist you’ll know why it quite rightly scooped five Oscar 2012 awards at the star-studded red carpet event. The silent film, directed by Michel Hazanvicius, is a joy to watch and leaves you with a warm glow. The Artist won Best Motion Picture, Best Costume Design, Best Original Score, Best Director and leading man Jean Dujardin won Best Actor. We hope Uggie the dog got an extra big bowl of Pedigree Chum for his efforts! What we see as making the film so enjoyable to watch, apart from Jean Dujardin's infectious smile of course, is its simple, endearing love story, its hilarious talented dog, its stunning choreography and its 1920's Hollywood glamour - all those wonderful outfits are adorable.

With this in mind, ACHICA Living has gone on the hunt for some glamourous finds to bring a little piece of 1920's style and charm to our homes. Nono’s new Deco Fabulous wallpaper collection is just the ticket for adding some art deco style. We’re loving Fifi wallpaper (above), which depicts a 1920’s showgirl and relives the glamour of the jazz age. Matinee wallpaper by Nono is also a stunner and features a tribute to art deco’s origins, with its print of a Parisian boulevard (below). 'With its glamour, glitter and sultry elegance - the art deco era is a perfect fit for Nono’s signature style,’ says founder of the Nono brand Gill Nono. 'This collection is ideal for both period and contemporary homes.’ We agree and it will certainly work for us because let’s face it, Jean Dujardin himself isn’t going to come over for a cup of tea to brighten up our homes any time soon...
