Bling Chic Bling
If you’re anything like me and love shiny things – if it’s small and Tiffany’s, it’s on my radar for example – then you’ll be pleased to see Frank Hudson’s opulent Alexandria collection of bedroom furniture coming to ACHICA this week (from 7am 25 August 2011). Tim and James Hudson, the inspirational designers of this stunning range, made a trip to Egypt to visit the magnificent pyramids and take influence from the luxurious interiors there. The pair visited local traders selling jewels, rich fabrics and ornate carvings and, as a result, developed this Alexandria collection, which reflects the talented carving techniques adopted across Egypt, itself influenced by French style. What I love about this range is that even though it looks traditonal in style, the silver leaf finish gives it a modern edge, but one that is timeless and would last for years to come. There’s a 6ft bedstead, two-door wardrobe, dressing table with mirror, chair, three-drawer bombe commode, bedside cabinets, cheval mirror and roman stool in the range to match.
